How many days have passed like this?
This city the crowd is fading, moving on…
I sometimes have wondered where you've gone
Story carries on, lonely, lost inside...
It was all the same, the days. They started to fade into nothingness as time went on. Though there were times when Kaneki would stop to think and wonder how you were after his sudden disappearance from your life. The thought of you would stop the blur of life for an instant, his pale lids closing for a second, bringing this forgotten warmth of light to bubble within.
He missed you.
But how could he go back? He wasn't the same Kaneki you grew to love, the Kaneki those angelic crooked smiles of yours were directed at. The past he had with you, was not going to be a part of his present, his future. He wished it to be however, to be by your side once more, creating a flurry of memories lasting a lifetime.
Tilting his head, his hues met the graying clouds breaking the setting sky into a lifeless blanket. It was as though the sky wanted to release something, maybe rain? He wasn't sure. It did remind him of his new self, of the full ghoul he had become. Palm raised, he reached for the cloudy sky. His tongue grazed over his lips, eyes closing as he inhaled the clear air of the twilight.
Egg of the Black Goat; the sky, resembled him.
Blowing in like a whisper, the night air swirled around the room through the open balcony door. How careless you were to leave the latch unlocked, he knew each night you would do so, waiting for him. Even for a single moment, to see his face again.
Your knuckles whitened as you curled your fingers around your heavy comforter, pulling it closer to your chilling form. His grey eyes remained focused on your slumbering face, his observant nature taking in the crease created by your knitting brows.
A bad dream.
"Kaneki..." His name rolled off your tongue in a hushed, angelic tone; as though an angel was whispering into the shell of his ear.
Onyx tipped nails hesitantly reached out to your form, wanting to wake you, to tell you his was right here. But this was a final goodbye.
Raising from the plush, carpeted floor, he leaned down, placing one last gentle kiss to your contorted temple. A silent goodbye to you. Striding over to the open balcony, he took one last glance at your slumbering figure, a soft, somber smile adorning his pale face. He wished to remain here, fixing what he had broken. Mending the heartbreak, the pain, he had caused you, though he never meant nor wanted to cause you such pain, only happiness.
But there was no going back. The time of love had already passed and gone, but not forgotten. The passenger seat in his heart would always remain yours till he could no longer move his living flesh.
No matter what, you would be a part of him.

As long as I`m alive
You will be part of me
He wandered aimlessly throughout the city, stumbling upon his home, his mother. Pleads escaped his lips, begging her to stop, to rest from her stressful days, weeks. Providing and helping so many in selfless acts.
It all shifted, bringing him to that little coffee shop you loved so much. The husky scent of beans and brewing coffee filled his nostrils as his eyes hoovered across the familiar cafe. Soon, his grey hues rested on a beautiful sight. A white cup of porcelain wrapped perfectly in your delicate hands as you sipped at the warm liquid resting within. Lifting your eyes from the warm mug, that gentle smile of yours twitched at the corner of your lips as you stood from your wooden seat, striding over to his wide eyed form.
Lifting your hands to his milky contours, the pad of your thumb caressed the raise of his cheek as your rosy lips parted, words his needed, wanted to hear filling his ears.
"You don't have to keep fighting through everything alone Kaneki. We're here. I'm here."
